McKenzie is not the finest since Hickson. When I watch her I mostly see two expressions on her face throughout her on-screen time: worry and awkwardness - when she is faced with an awkward moment while talking with someone. Why must Marple be worried all the time? Always exclaiming things like "Oh, dear oh dear..."? I don't imagine old women who knit, who are also genius detectives, necessarily saying "Oh dear oh dear" all the time. I enjoyed Geraldine McEwan and Angela Lansbury's performances best. They seemed the most unassuming and believably domestic to me. Joan Hickson of course LOOKED domestic and dowdy, but she also was always zero-ing in on people and conversation, so much that she seemed too involved for Marple. No!
